Freeling Primary School to develop a building masterplan

13 March 2025

A review of infrastructure at Freeling Primary School will be conducted by developing a masterplan for the site’s future needs.

The study will review the school’s buildings, looking at their current condition, remaining usability, along with suitability for refurbishment.

The review, which will take about three months, will help to develop a masterplan for the school, including a complete scope, budget and delivery program for future consideration.

In parallel, a feasibility study at Freeling Primary School will also be undertaken to identify potential remediation options to address any short-term repairs.

Improving the condition of school and preschool buildings is a priority, with more than $50 million already announced this year for important infrastructure work at several South Australian schools.

Multi-million-dollar improvements will be made at Two Wells Primary School, Fairview Park Primary School, Fulham Gardens Primary School, Fraser Park Primary School, Taparra Primary School and Mount Barker High School.

These improvements form part of the comprehensive 20-Year Infrastructure Plan for Education and Care which focuses on revamping the state’s public school facilities to address urgent upgrades and expansions to help with capacity.

Freeling Primary School Principal Angela Jenkins said, This is wonderful news for Freeling School, and I know our passionate and supportive community will also be pleased about this investment.

“We have worked hard to make the best of our aging infrastructure, and we know we could do so much more with modern facilities to support our students”.

“With proper planning to address our future building needs, it will ensure teachers at Freeling School can continue to educate local families for generations to come”, said Ms Jenkins.
