Inviting facility upgrade at Reidy Park Primary School

20 June 2024

Reidy Park Primary School has undergone a $5.33 million facility upgrade to refresh multiple classrooms and provide additional all-weather outdoor learning spaces.

Located in Mount Gambier in the state’s south-east, Reidy Park Primary School has 488 students across Reception to Year 6.

The building program, which reached completion in April 2023, has been officially opened and included the refurbishment of 7 classrooms within the junior school, along with improving the building’s connection to the outdoors.

Further refurbishment work enabled the school to create a new wellbeing space, a Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) room and teacher preparation spaces.

The school’s central courtyard area has been redeveloped, including a new covered outdoor learning area, additional nature-play spaces, an undercover sandpit and raised planter beds.

To provide a more inviting welcome for visitors to the school, the front office space has also been refurbished and a new meeting room has been created.

Reidy Park Primary School Principal Craig Scerri said we really value the new spaces that have been created within our school, especially the classrooms which feel bright and fresh for our students to learn in.

"The new courtyard is really attractive and inviting for students, and there are new areas for the children to play and explore in".

"As part of the refurbishment, a new STEM room has been opened up which has impressed students so much that STEM is now a favourite subject amongst our young learners".
