You have the opportunity to come up with a fitting name for the new public high school that will open in Rostrevor in 2023.
We are calling for public nominations to name the school which will cater to 1200 students from year 7 to 12.
It needs to be something original that reflects the character of the community and local environment.
Education Department Chief Operating Officer Ben Temperly has challenged people to be creative and come up with something better than the all too predictable Schooly McSchoolface.
“Be original, be locally relevant and be aware that someone in the office already submitted Schooly McSchoolface so that’s on the longlist,” said Mr Temperly.
Nominations are open from Thursday 5 August to Thursday 19 August.
The final name will be chosen from the shortlist in consultation with local school governing council chairs.
