Nominations are now open for the 2022 Rural Youth Ambassadors program.
The program connects passionate and diverse rural students in year 11. It offers an opportunity to develop their leadership skills, grow knowledge and provide a voice for rural young people.
The program is run by the Country Education Partnership (CEP) with the support of the Department for Education. It is strengthened by additional investment under the department’s Country Education Strategy, which was developed with input by members of the Rural Youth Ambassador program.
Over 12 months, the ambassadors work together online on issues important to rural young Australians. They also meet in person at 4 forums in Adelaide and regional centres.
In this role they meet with the Minister for Education and pitch their ideas to government and education staff. They also present at education workshops, forums and conferences.
The program finishes with a national forum held in Canberra during December with ambassadors from all over Australia.
Schools are invited to nominate students to become 2022 Rural Youth Ambassadors with endorsements from their parents or carers and Principal. Nominations close on Friday 11 March 2022.
