Riverbanks College B-12 officially opened

Riverbanks College B-12, a new school worth about $116 million and built to support population growth in Adelaide’s north, was officially opened today.

The site in Angle Vale supports young people across early learning and care, OSHC, preschool, primary and secondary school, to assist with a smoother transition for each stage for students, along with an inclusive education unit.

Riverbanks College has a strong focus on science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) studies to educate students for jobs of the future, with facilities such as a Virtual Reality (VR) lab and Design Technologies facilities.

It also has a 300-seat performing arts centre, food hospitality centre and a contemporary library.

Expansive outdoor facilities, including soccer and hockey pitches, ovals and an indoor gym, provide lots of sporting options for students that will also be used by the local community outside of school hours.

The construction, which began in early 2020, took more than 669,000 hours by more than 2,450 people, before the College welcomed its first students in Term 1 last year.

Total enrolment is expected to grow to 1675 students by 2026, with the college prepared for capacity of 1500 primary and secondary students, 100 inclusive places for students with a disability, and 75 places in the in the Early Learning Centre.
