A new outdoor pavilion, large enough for the 1400 students at Gawler and District College B-12 to gather in has been officially opened.
The Pavilion is part of a $10 million upgrade at Gawler and District College B-12.
The multi-purpose space was designed to accommodate a wide range of activities, from physical education classes to student graduations and performances and includes a stage which is equipped with monitors and AV equipment.
“The Pavilion will allow our school to come together as a whole college, providing our younger students the opportunity to interact, learn and be inspired by our senior school students,” said Angela Michael, Principal at Gawler and District College B-12.
“I’m looking forward to our school and the broader community holding lots of events in that space, from graduations to end of year concerts. It’ll be fabulous for all.”
A new special education building has also been built, which includes two learning areas and spaces for students to take part in one-on-one or small group lessons.
“The special education building is a state-of-the-art facility and a welcoming environment where we can support a number of our most vulnerable students,” said Ms Michael.
The major project also includes the ‘College Central Parent Portal’; a building incorporating administration office space and a reception area.
