Educator recruitment process

Follow the  below to learn about the family day care educator recruitment process.

Enquiry

  • A recruitment coordinator contacts applicant to discuss knowledge, experience and understanding of early childhood education and care.
  • An information package will be provided by family day care.

Application, interview, and premises suitability

  • Recruitment coordinator sends application package to applicant to complete.
  • Application forms and supporting documentation are reviewed by recruitment coordinator.
  • Interview and premises visit is scheduled.
  • Suitability is assessed and outcome letter is sent to applicant.

Induction

  • Prospective educator is invited to the induction stage.
  • Induction tasks are successfully completed.

Administration training

  • Family Day Care Business and Customer Support Centre sends an administration package for the prospective educator to complete.
  • Prospective educator meets with the Business and Customer Support Centre.

Approval and registration

  • Recruitment coordinator conducts a pre-registration visit and premises assessment, followed by a registration visit with a supporting coordinator.
  • Recruitment coordinator completes a recommendation for approval to register, or any requirements that may be identified.
  • Once approved, family day care scheme finalises prospective educator on systems.

Family day care educator is registered and begins operating their family day care business with a Department for Education scheme.
