Structure and features
Learning tasks
English for Australian Curriculum is divided according to year groupings:
- Early years
- Primary
- Secondary
Early years presents units:
- Foundation – patterns
- Year 1 – reading the landscape
- Year 2 – investigating eggs in stories and science
Primary years presents units:
- Year 3 – night and day
- Year 4 – 1788: was life the same for everyone
- Year 5 – save one island, save them all
- Year 6 – talk about rights
- Year 7 – imagining ancient Rome
Secondary years presents units:
- Year 7 – consumer culture
- Year 8 – waste not, want not
- Year 9 – seven billion people
- Year 10 – protest
Who can use these?
Teachers can use these example units of work to support and guide learning design. Units can be modified for mini take home units. Videos of read-alouds for many of the texts can be found on YouTube.
