For students and families:
This collection of free online books will help children understand the global world in which they live. Books can be searched for in a variety of ways including:
- country of origin
- language
- length of read
- picture or chapter book
- age level
- type of book (text type or genre).
Teacher notes
The mission of the International Children’s Digital Library is to excite and inspire the world’s children to become members of the global community – children who understand the value of tolerance and respect for diverse cultures, languages and ideas.
Teachers can use this resource to:
- provide students and families access to a range of books or to make connections to the teaching and learning program.
- support EALD learners, providing them with books in their first language.
