An online library to borrow books

Looking for children's picture books or stories for older readers? The National Emergency Library is a digital collection of books that families, students and teachers can borrow for free.

Structure and features

For students and families

All students and families need to borrow books from the National Emergency Library is an internet connection.

Search for books by:

  • year level
  • age level
  • fiction/nonfiction
  • area of interest
  • year of publishing
  • subject area.

When students and families have picked a book, they can create a log in account and borrow the book for a set amount of time.

The National Emergency Library has a link to Open Library too. Students and families can also search for digital books to read there.
