Writing Legends is an online program containing many activities to support the teaching and learning of writing across a wide range of text types. Teachers can set specific writing activities for individual students, groups of students or the whole class and can view and provide feedback on progression.

Writing Legends can assist teachers to:
- support students’ vocabulary development and broaden language choices to make writing an enjoyable task.
- set specific writing activities for individual students, groups of students, or the whole class.
- provide annotated examples that deconstruct the writing process.
- provide a platform with many online features to support the planning, implementation, feedback and reflection of teaching and learning writing.
- create a community of writers in an engaging, collaborate and supportive environment.
Teacher notes
As part of the Oxford University Press Australia and New Zealand are providing Writing Legends free of charge until July 31, 2020.
Assessment:
a class review feature to help teachers enable students’ writing progression. Teachers can view how students craft stories and encourage and reward reflection using the platform’s ‘student reply’ features. They can see how long students spend on activities and then provide individual feedback.
