Drug education and road safety: teacher resources

'Challenges and Choices' is a unit designed to assist teachers who want to guide students in learning about resilience, drug education and road safety activities.

    Structure and features

    A range of effective teaching and learning strategies are used to engage students in five different focus areas:

    1. resilience and wellbeing
    2. drug education
    3. passenger safety
    4. pedestrian safety
    5. safety on wheels.

    The resource includes a resource book and a CD of music and stories. A CD-Rom with slideshows for some of the five focus areas can be purchased at an additional cost, but is not essential. Teachers can:

    • click on the relevant 'Challenge and Choices' year level 
    • view the a list of the five focus areas, with downloadable resource books to provide support in teaching these units
    • explore the additional resources in the menu tab.
