Parents can access resources to use at home that will help improve communication with teenagers, and boost wellbeing for teenagers and the whole family.

Structure and features

This resource has many features to help parents support their teenagers including common concerns and skills to build. Each section gives valuable information and activities to try at home.

The 'common concerns' section has resources for mental health and everyday issues, including:

  • stress
  • peer pressure
  • cyberbullying
  • anxiety
  • body image
  • family conflict.

The 'skills to build' section has resources for wellbeing, connecting and communicating, including:

  • effective communication
  • self care
  • coping skills and resilience
  • use of technology.

 

Teacher notes

Teachers can use this resource to connect with parents and community. They can direct parents to specific areas on the website to help with:

  • personal, social and community health
  • strategies to manage personal and social changes
  • strategies to manage changes and transitions in relationships
  • encouraging and facilitating conversations at home.
