Civics and citizenship

The Parliamentary Education Office is a federal government website that provides an excellent collection of teacher resources. It can be used to deliver units of work for years 7 to 10 Civics and citizenship learning area within the Australian curriculum. Unit plans are provided for each year level with supporting documents and videos.

For teachers

Units are divided into year levels as well as into individual lesson plans. There are hyperlinks to more detailed explanations to make it clear and concise. There are learning outcomes and formal and informal assessment ideas and these can be shaped to the needs of particular students. The support material is well-produced and appropriate for the year level it is directed at. You are able to customise the resources by using them independently.
