This is the official site of the South Tyrol Museum of Archaeology. This museum displays the remains and equipment of ‘Otzi the iceman’. The ancient neolithic hunter's remains were discovered in a glacier in 1991. This site provides an excellent body of research students can use to examine details of the amazing discovery and the evidence about his mysterious death. It examines how anthropologists and scientists have used his remains and artefacts to build a better understanding of life in that region 5,300 years ago.
