Students and teachers will need to complete a free registration to access 'Can:Do Classroom'. The website is organised into sections for teachers, students and parents, and explores 3 focus areas:
- hearing health and protection - 4 lessons
- communication - 3 lessons, including introduction to Auslan
- social inclusion and disability - 3 lessons.
The students' section includes interactive activities, videos and demonstrations of Auslan.
The website also includes a link to Can:Do Classroom's YouTube channel in which students can learn:
- basic words in Auslan
- how to sing 'Home among the gumtrees' and 'We are Australian'
- Auslan numbers
- fingerspelling in Auslan.
For teachers
Teachers can access comprehensive lesson plans aligned to the Australian Curriculum in a range of subject areas including languages (Auslan), health and PE, and technologies.
