These short stories from ABC Kids will entertain both families and children. Stories include favourites like Possum Magic.

Structure and features

Select Play School Story Time to hear Play School presenters and guests read stories. The presenters and guests read stories that relate to their own lives. For example, Gardening Australia's Costa Georgiadis and Jemima read Emily Green's Garden by Penny Harrison and Megan Forward.

Play School Story Time: Languages will take families to stories that families can listen to in:

  • Arabic
  • Mandarin
  • Cantonese
  • Japanese
  • Italian

There are 43 stories to listen to. Each one goes for about 8 minutes.

  • listening skills
  • oral language
  • concentration.

Sharing these links with families can support children to access stories every day. These stories can be used as good conversation starters for families. Teachers can suggest that families and children might have a go at making up their own stories too.
