Scratch - a free visual coding platform

Scratch, developed by the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MiT), is a free online platform for learning visual coding. 

On Scratch, you can create animations and games which can be uploaded to the site for others to use and share. 

Scratch is great for teachers, to introduce coding to students for all ages. It's equally helpful for students to use on their own to create amazing digital products.  

Structure and features

Students can:

  • create games and animations
  • share to a global community
  • explore projects 
  • download and edit created projects.
