Space invaders

Grok Learning provides self-paced technologies learning modules for students to do at home or at school.

In this resource students create a space invaders game using a Javascript module.

Structure and features

Ask students what they know about the game 'Space invaders'

Direct them to the Internet Archive that has an example of the original 'Space invaders' game. Use arrow keys to move and the ctrl key to fire.

This was a very popular game in the 80s and 90s.

Work through the Grok Learning module to find out how to code their own space invaders game

Reflection

What games do students like to play? How do the graphics compare? How could a more complex game be coded?
