The Science 7-9 program is co-designed with and facilitated by the University of Melbourne. The program delves into the Australian Science Curriculum 7-9 and its conceptual framework, while also incorporating new perspectives from the forthcoming SA Curriculum: Science. You’ll develop your capability as a secondary years school science specialist, exploring strategies to engage learners meaningfully in science and increase their scientific inquiry skills.

Program overview

You’ll enhance your content and pedagogical knowledge of middle years science, deepen your understanding of chemistry, earth science, biology, and physics, while connecting these disciplines to relevant learning dispositions and capabilities.

Through a range of activities, you’ll collaborate with peers to promote inquiry skills, curiosity and learner agency with 2 days of practical work in a school science laboratory.

Schools arrange and pay for TRTs to cover participants on program days as required.
